Tasmanian Deerstalkers Hunting Leases and Shooting RangeHunting areas available for Deer and Wallaby (when in season)We have hunting areas at Bellevue Tier, near Lake Echo; Native Tier, north of Ouse; and an area called “Mt. Connection State Forest”, north of Tooms Lake (but south of the Lake Leake Highway). This land is in excess of 20 thousand acres and has a game management plan, mainly to control pest species (which are causing problems with regeneration of the plantations and surrounding private properties). These areas are available during the hunting seasons to any financial SSAA T10 members for an annual entry fee. The fee is just $60 if paid BEFORE December 31st of the year prior to the season or $100 if paid AFTER that date, so get in early. Keys are necessary for access and are available upon request. The only criterion is that you are a member of the SSAA (preferably the T10 branch). Nevertheless, if you are a member of another SSAA branch, we can admit you by way of an annual fee. Most members find it more convenient to transfer to our branch. New SSAA members simply request membership at T10 branch. Please keep in mind that trips must be planned well in advance to avoid any inconvenience associated with overlapping bookings. Although this is not usually a problem, it is wise to coordinate hunting areas between parties to ensure everyone is catered for. We also hunt land north of Arthurs Lake. This allows for Deer (in season) and Wallaby on nominated weekends (under permit issued with license from Hydro each year). Please find the necessary forms on our Docs & Links page. Although they are fairly detailed, this is so Hydro and Forestry Management can protect all concerned. Game SeasonsGame licences are available from DPIW on or after 1 February 2012 Adult Male Deer: 03 Mar 2012 to 01 April 2012
